Commercial consent at Woolfox Barracks!

Through close collaboration with the landowners’ representatives, the Council and project team, Define is delighted to have secured outline planning permission for a strategic employment development at the Former RAF Woolfox Lodge in Rutland. The scheme is expected to create an economic output of £63.5 million per year.

The unanimous approval of the 19ha scheme by Planning Committee members will enable the expansion of Zeeco Europe Ltd, a leader in advanced combustion and environmental solutions, and who is already a key employer in the region. Building new commercial units in such a strategic location on the A1 corridor underpins the development and will be a significant boost to employment.

This milestone represents a significant achievement following the successful promotion of the site through the Local Plan Review. A clear, compelling and evidence-led planning case demonstrated the strong justification for more than doubling the scale of the emerging allocation, unlocking the site’s full potential.

We are delighted to be continuing this work alongside the wider project team, supporting the delivery of a high-quality commercial development that will bring long-term economic and placemaking benefits to this prime location.
