A unanimous 'Yes' for Tamworth’s newest community

We are delighted to announce that we have secured a unanimous resolution to grant outline planning permission for Ashlands, a significant new development by Bloor Homes.

Located at Ashby Road, Tamworth, this project will deliver up to 200 new homes and a new community facility, marking a major investment in the local area.

This decision is a huge milestone for the team who have been working hard on this project since 2022, promoting the site in parallel with the emerging Local Plan before submitting the outline application in January 2025.

Define provided comprehensive planning, masterplanning, and landscape input throughout the process. Our goal was to create a vision for a "logical expansion" of the town. The approved illustrative proposals showcase a high-quality development that truly embraces its environment, including its riverside setting, and integrates local walking routes connecting residents to the surrounding countryside.

This result is a testament to the proactive and collaborative approach of the entire project team, including PJA | Whartons | Orion | JBA | AAC | supported by Meeting Place.

We also want to extend our thanks to the Planning and Highway Authority Officers for their proactive approach to negotiations, which were instrumental in reaching this unanimous positive outcome.
