We are thrilled to announce that our work has been shortlisted for this year’s Landscape Institute Awards in the Excellence in Collaboration, Engagement and Influence category!

This nomination recognises a multi-year, community-first engagement process undertaken on behalf of our client, Camland Group, which informed the successful Reserved Matters planning application for the project.

Fostering Local Connections

At the heart of this project was a commitment to meaningful community involvement. Working closely with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation and local arts organisation Cementfields, we engaged with local schools and colleges to foster connections with young people and spark conversations about the future of their local parks.

As we moved into the detailed planning stage, we collaborated with a fantastic multidisciplinary team—including CBRE, FrancisKnight, Cementfields, Pillory Barn, and artist Christopher Tipping—to host creative, accessible community engagement events.

Engagement Highlights:

  • Summer Fair Interactive Stall: Connecting directly with local residents in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
  • Co-Design Workshop: Hosting an interactive session at the Castle Hill Community Centre to directly involve locals in shaping the space.
  • Cementfields Workshops: Attending workshops and organising site visits with local schools and colleges to gather ideas and further develop the brief

Looking Ahead

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of everyone involved, the scheme was officially approved in December 2023.

We are currently hard at work finalising the detailed design proposals as we prepare to transition from the drawing board to construction. We look forward to seeing this community-shaped vision come to life!
